Lets Make a Difference!!
Hey Everybody,
The world (my family, friends, and others) has been good to me - you could say I've been blessed....so I'm giving back right now! Charities I'm passionate about are going to get 10% of everything I earn, and they're going to get a lot of my time. I've mentioned a couple of the most important ones below so you can get involved too! Help me help others by giving of yourself now!!
xoxo,
Daphne
I love Alex, and I never even met her!! Alexandra “Alex” Scott was diagnosed with childhood cancer before her first birthday. When she was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand to raise money and give it to her doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands—donating the proceeds to her cause.

In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of eight—her stand and inspiration had raised over $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. The mission of the foundation: to raise money for and awareness of childhood cancer causes—especially research into new treatments and cures—and to encourage and educate others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
Since Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000—truly exemplifying the saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade”—she and her successors have raised more than $40 million, with more than $12 million of those dollars coming from lemonade stands. That money has helped to:
• Fund more than 150 cutting-edge research projects
• Create a travel program to help support families of children receiving treatment
• Develop resources to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer
I help Alex every chance I can. Every time they have a fundraising event in Los Angeles, I want to be there.

I give money whenever I can, and I help raise money when ever someone will listen. With my friend Andrew, I got to help present a $250,000 check to the Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA this fall!!

You can help to.
Visit Alex's website by clicking on the banner above. They will guide you through everything you need to do to get involved. Or email me and I'll help you figure out what to do! Do a fundraiser at your school, and I'll help you get some stuff from my Disney friends to auction off and raise money!
If Alex could do it, then we don't have any excuse but to pick up a lemon and get busy!!!!!!
These are two of my favorite charities!! If there's a catastrophe in the world and you want to get help there as quickly as possible, you can bet these two organizations have set up a supply system to provide aid.
Plus, they do all kinds of other things to help. The Salvation Army will help and clothe those in need year round. They give toys to kids at Christmas! Take your free time, your allowance, or money you make, and after giving some to Alex's Lemonade Stand, give the rest to The Salvation Army and the Red Cross!!
